I've been an avid Google Reader fan for awhile and before that I was enthralled with Bloglines. Both are good programs, but one of the services that I've not really taken advantage of until the last few days is the social features. Both these great news aggregators offer ways to share the things you find interesting in your news with others through your own feeds. That's always seemed a bit kludgy. What changed is that Reader added features to make it easier to see things your friends have shared. This is a really neat feature, but not many people are using it yet among my friends list. Therefore, if you're a Google Reader user and you see something interesting, mark it "share" so I can check it out too!
My friend Brian has already been doing this and I've been enjoying the glimpse into what he's been enjoying.
For those using a feed reader besides Google Reader, through my share news feed.

I have a number of thoughts on this.
First, here is what I am reading at Bloglines.
http://www.bloglines.com/public/mlfalcon
If you want to see another variant of it head over to my site and look at the links page. It has a full listing of what I read via bloglines.
second, I got an email thing from someone else who started sharing but from what I can see everyone is a friend according to Googlereader. to prove my point, the article was about a new cigar. As a tri-geek, runner and general health nut I have no interest in smoking. But since I was a friend, according to google, I got the story. So I think there are a few wrinkles to be worked out.
With that said, unless they allow groups or lists of certain people this is a "strange" feature. If the groups worked, I could send a Triathlon Bike story to one group while hitting another group with a Catholic story.
Just my $0.02 keep the change
That's an interesting thought about needing groups to send stuff to. I think I'd manage that simply by blocking folks that send me much stuff that I don't really care to read.
