When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom

Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real

The first and most fundamental issue of sin is pride.

A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you're looking down, you can't see something that's above you.

In all my prayers, whether I get the answers I want or not, I can count on this one fact: God can make use of whatever happens. Nothing is irredeemable.

We talk of the Second Coming; half the world has never heard of the first.

Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.

Before we will serve, we stop to ponder our personal and financial concerns— "What if God wants me to go over there? And what about my salary? What is the climate like there? Who will take care of me? A person must consider all these things." All that is an indication that we have reservations about serving God.
